Reparation connection

I'm sorry for interrupting the flow of current events, but I saw this article in the Plain Dealer this morning and thought it related to what we were talking about in English class yesterday regarding reparation:

Supposedly, at Bahama Breeze, 37 black employees were harassed by the managers. The managers were claimed to have been using racial slurs, mimicking black employees, and not allowing for time off.
Now, the restaurant has agreed to pay $1.26 million dollars to settle the complaints.

Of course, this situation is less severe than slavery. Also, the situation and apology are both current, rather than an apology for an event in the past. Regardless, I think there is definitely a connection.
