Geronimo

Geronimo was a Native American leader and also a medicine manAdd Video of the Apache, a tribe formerly located in the southwest of the United States. He was revered by other Native Americans for his courage and "powers", resulting in large amounts of Native Americans becoming his followers. They had multiple fights/scuffles with white settlers that looked to become miners and effectively stopped them. Since he was a military chief, this created a threat to the United States government because a brilliant Indian military leader (Geronimo), now had a standing army. The United States military made his capture a priority. He fought many successful battles leading up to his capture against Mexico and the United States. After his capture, he became an icon for American Indians and was an instant celebrity among all Americans.
