Lil Wayne was given a delay in sentencing till March 2nd in order to receive dental surgery, which he is unable to receive in prison. Lil Wayne's oral surgeon has been out of the country, therefor Lil Wayne has not been able to receive surgery. Although his dentist has been out of the country, he is not the only one capable of performing the procedure, begging the question, if Lil Wayne was truly ready to go to jail, why has he not received the surgery? Many believe that he was just trying to promote his new album.
It would also seem as if Lil Wayne appears to be above the normal law. His surgery, which will happen this friday, February 12th, requires some recovery time out of prison, but the recovery time only lasts 10 days maximum with a normal recovery period of a week. If Lil Wayne will be ready to go to jail on the 22nd, at the latest, why has he been allowed about another week before sentencing? Are celebrities above the law? If not why has it been documented that many celebrities, (Ex. Foxy Brown, who was housed at the same facility where Lil Wayne will be serving his time), are housed in minimum security prisons with special amenities not available to the general, delinquent public?
Sorry i couldn't be here for this interesting discussion. After reading a few articles on this subject i found more about his special treatment in prison which includes and ipod to listen to beats (for recording purposes) and a special room away from the ordinary prisoners. The room is understandable because he is a vulnerable prisoner. But i seriously doubt he should get an ipod and other recording devices. Going on to the question, i also read they are trying to promote him as much as possible before he goes to jail so people remember him by the time he gets out. So I believe this is just a promotion coverup. These past few weeks he's been recording, making videos and guest appearances, and leaving personal messages all over the media non-stop.
